Great Magna Carta Weekend in Lincoln!

From 13-15 June ArtReach brought Night of Festivals Carnival to Lincoln City centre as part of the Great Magna Carta Weekend celebrations.  A wide range of Mandinga Arts designed costumed carnival sections performed in the streets.
Street  performances  accompanied by the amazing musicians of Sabar Sounds,  wowed the public  in City Square, High St, Cornhill and Brayford Water in Lincoln.

We were delighted with the vibrant and energetic performances delivered by a large contingent of community performers from Lincoln, and also with the fantastic reaction of the Lincoln public who danced, interacted and engaged with abandon!

A key highlight was the special procession on Monday 15 June from City Square along High Street, The Strait and Steep Hill to Lincoln Castle. Our giant King John puppet, designed by Kinetika, was accompanied by a 20 metre long Magna Carta parchment, decorated with ideas and images from participant young people as to what a 2015 Magna Carta should seek! Many thanks to the fantastic students from St Francis School and Lincoln Castle Academy who led the procession.

Plenty of TV, media and press coverage –
