New Art Exchange at Hyson Green Library

Over spring and summer 2014 ArtReach led a Feasibility Study for the New Art Exchange, to explore the potential of delivering new services in the adjacent Hyson Green Library building (with the library due to relocate in spring 2015).

Working with architects Adjaye Associates (the practice led by David Adjaye), and Bristow Johnson Cost Consultants, ArtReach produced an in-depth study that was well received by projected partners. Plans include the establishment of a possible hack space facility within the library shell, as well as training rooms and rehearsal facilities that will be used by, amongst others, local group Take One.

ArtReach has now been commissioned to help the project through its next development stage, involving capital development work and applications to lottery funders. Further community consultation is now taking place and the aspiration is to achieve funding to progress the project by summer 2015.
