From 13-15 June we shall be in Lincoln, presenting a version of Night of Festivals as part of the Great Magna Carta weekend (celebrating the 800th anniversary of the signing of the great document granting freedom and democracy).
Magna Carta has perfect synergy with the ongoing theme of Night of Festivals, to celebrate freedom and democracy through artistic innovation. No wonder we’ve commissioned a special carnival figure of King John!
Moving on through the summer, Night of Festivals makes a foray into London with presentations in Hounslow (11/12 July) and Barking (18/19 July). The Barking event is part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
Early October sees the Rugby World Cup with five nations based in Leicester and playing games in the city. Night of Festivals will be the cultural centrepiece of the World Cup in Leicester and ArtReach is working to present artists and art reflecting the five competing teams – Romania, Canada, Argentina, Namibia and Tonga.
