ArtReach is working on an exciting new project to deliver a programme of Arts & Heritage activity in a Grade 1 listed disused church (All Saints Church) in the heart of Leicester. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Project Manager to deliver two arts and heritage initiatives linked to the building, and develop a programme of further year-round activity that will engage new audiences in an exciting and innovative way.
With confirmed support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, ArtReach will deliver a project to explore the heritage of All Saints Church, the building and its contents, as well as the history of the immediate area. Working with a Heritage Research specialist and a team of local volunteers the project will see the creation of a heritage booklet of local stories and histories, a sound installation and a new piece of community theatre, all responding to and exploring the rich history of the building.
The second project entitled Sanctuaries: exploring the history of safe spaces, also supported by Heritage Lottery Fund through the national Kick the Dust programme and Y Heritage (through Leicester YMCA), will offer young people the opportunity to create an immersive installation in All Saints Church as part of Refugee Week 2019. The young participants will work with an artist and a director to design and deliver installations representing their own safe spaces which will be animated by live performance, audio and video.
The post is initially fixed term until 31st December 2020 however there is potential for this to be extended, and for the post to be increased from part time to full time as the role develops.
The application pack can be requested by emailing email@example.com. Closing date is 5pm on Monday 4th March and interviews will be held in Leicester on Wednesday 13th March.
