Night of Festivals Hounslow 2017

Produced by ArtReach, Night of Festivals returned to Hounslow for a third year. Across the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June, the Festival brought a vibrant line up of world artists and musicians with a special focus on South Asia to help mark the 70th Anniversary of Indian and Pakistan independence.

The Festival comprised of a live music stage in Bell Square featuring local community performers alongside internationally acclaimed artists such as Dr Das, Malikah, Moody Kablawi and the London Syrian Ensemble.

The colourful carnival took place across the weekend on Hounslow High Street. Reknowned street art company, Mandinga Arts dazzled crowds with their brilliant costumes and worked closely with various community groups so that they could get involved in the celebration. The groups that took part included a group of senior ladies from Age UK, a local disabled group Speak Out and Feltham Arts.

For 2017, the Festival developed a new partnership with Middlesex Cricket. Both organisations wished to celebrate the diversity of Hounslow and engage the audiences with the most popular sport common to Britain and South Asia – cricket! The Middlesex Cricket 1st Team attended the Hounslow event and hosted cricket activities for all of the community to enjoy and participate in.
