ArtReach is delighted to support the UK Centre for Carnival Arts (UKCCA) recruit people to join its organisation, with immediate starts available.

The UKCCA seeks people for a range of roles to support the organisation build its capacity and deliver its key activities following a year of disruption caused by Covid-19.

The organisation seeks:

  • An Interim Executive Director (Full Time, Fixed Term), to lead the organisation and guide its development in the run up to its next application for ACE NPO funding for 2023 and beyond.
  • A Finance Manager (2 days a week, Fixed Term), to provide financial management support to the organisation, providing regular, accurate and detailed financial records to the senior leadership team including the Board of Trustees.
  • A Fundraising Consultant (Fixed fee, freelance contract), to deliver the UKCCA’s fundraising strategy, enabling its carnival arts programme and maintenance of its building.
  • A Governance Consultant (Fixed fee, freelance contract), to develop new systems and processes to build the skills, capacity and confidence of the Board of Trustees to lead the organisation and support delivery of a new ambitious business plan.

You will be part of an exciting and innovative organisation that aims to embed Carnival into places, into spaces and into communities. Across the year, UKCCA works with communities and cultural partners in Luton and Bedfordshire to realise their events and festivals, supporting delivery of key major events and bringing the stunning work of some of the UK’s most reputable Carnival Artists to audiences. Major events delivered by UKCCA include the Luton International Carnival, but in a year where many arts and cultural organisations have had to adapt their programmes, the UKCCA was proud to deliver the National Children’s Carnival Week in July 2021 – a showcase of online and local celebratory activities events delivered by carnival groups in and with schools across the country.

The UKCCA is unique. It is one of the very few organisations committed to promoting excellence within the field of carnival arts in all its professional forms. The UKCCA is an Arts Council England NPO – Band 1 meaning it receives regular funding in support of its activity.

You will be joining a small and dedicated team of arts professionals who are committed to supporting the organisation deliver its vision and mission and to work in ways that embody its values, in particular giving voice to those that are underrepresented and to ensuring inclusivity across all of its work. This includes the recruitment processes, and UKCCA welcome applications from all sections of the community, especially those who are underrepresented in the arts sector.
