In consultation with local communities, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council is developing a vision for Weymouth town centre that will maximise the potential of its natural assets for local people and visitors alike.
ArtReach has been commissioned to analyse the need and demand for cultural facilities in the town, in order to inform the master planning process. A further consultation exercise, including feedback from the ArtReach report, is expected to commence in early spring 2015.
Having worked with Quest and its partners (Desperate Men and Cirque Bijou) as they developed Battle of the Winds for presentation in Weymouth as part of the Olympics opening events, it is exciting for ArtReach to be involved in the cultural development of the town once again.
