View the latest ArtReach news for January here. Includes the Corby Mardi Gras Artist commission opportunity, Assistant Producer role and you can catch up from the Journeys Festival International action in Manchester!

As the team looks forward to becoming one of Art Council England’s new National Portfolio Organisations, this winter is proving a season of change and opportunity at ArtReach.

An exciting calendar of ArtReach events is being developed by the ArtReach team, starting on 24 March with a second edition of the Corby Mardi Gras. This exciting community event takes the Corby public on an illuminated journey through woods with light sculptures by Same Sky and live musicians nestled between the trees – a wonderful “enchanted” experience that involves community engagement with high quality art and an introduction to the ancient woodlands.

ArtReach is also busy preparing for the 4th annual Night of Festivals Hounslow (9-10 June) and the series of Journeys Festival International events which will include theVOICES project, funded by Creative Europe.

As the planning continues there are plenty of open artist call outs (see below), a new role as Assistant Producer of Journeys Festival International in Leicester and plenty of other recruitment opportunities coming soon. Please share these opportunities with your networks and watch this space if you’d like to join the team!

On the consultancy front, our work supporting Music Education Hubs across the country with business planning, fundraising and governance advice continues and our freshly developed Cultural Strategies for Thurrock and Stevenage are now both out to a wider public consultation. Also, great news from Curve which, with our help and support has achieved a substantial HLF award to develop it’s 10th Birthday community theatre programme.

Finally, I hope it’s not too late to say a very Happy New Year to you all!

Best Wishes
David Hill
ArtReach Director
