Artsmark brings learning to life through arts and culture.

Artsmark, awarded by Arts Council England, has been designed by schools, for schools. As well as recognising schools that are making the arts come alive, the Artsmark award is a practical and valuable tool for enriching a school’s arts provision whatever the starting point. It provides schools with access to enviable networks of leading cultural organisations that will enable them to use the arts to engage and develop happy, self-expressed and confident young people and inspire teachers.

ArtReach is proud to support schools on their Artsmark journey to help both teachers and pupils enrich and invigorate their learning experience and learning environment through creativity.

We believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to experience, explore, participate in the arts and have the chance to unlock their creativity. Through our diverse programme of year-round festival activity and breadth of connections with artists, performers and arts venues, we can support teachers, pupils, schools and alternative education provisions through their Artsmark journey and can provide specific, tailored opportunities to help you to achieve your Artsmark award.

ArtReach can offer:

We want to give YOU the confidence to be creative and deliver arts activities within your lessons and embed creativity within your educational setting

  • CPD opportunities for teachers, including:
    • How to embed arts and creativity across curricula to maximise ways in for learners
    • Support with lesson planning to interlink art in other subjects, planning for progression as opposed to one off lessons. If you want children to think differently through arts-based work, should their learning space be configured differently too?
    • Facilitated school tours to identify existing arts and creativity and highlight areas it could be introduced. This could also be done with pupils to give them ownership of their school space and encourage them to be actively involved in the development of their creative learning
    • Open discussion on ‘What is art?’ to help broaden thinking
    • Confidence building sessions in talking about, looking at and creating art

All sessions will be led and facilitated by an experienced ArtReach team member, who is a qualified primary school teacher and trained Arts Award Advisor

We can provide a range of high-quality creative experiences for pupils to get hands-on and explore an artform.

  • An example of Artist-led workshops that can be delivered:
    • Kite making and digital kite flying – exploring different countries and cultures through the art of kite making. Curriculum links to mathematics (measurements and geometry) and computing
    • Digital photography
    • African drumming
    • Carnival creations – mask making

All workshops include the opportunity for children to ask the artist questions to provide an authentic experience. Learners will participate in hands-on activity, creating something for class display or to take home with them. Facilitated visits to artists’ studios or galleries can also be arranged to offer a ‘real world’ experience of an artist at work

ArtReach produces Night of Festivals (Hounslow, Leicester, and Central London and Journeys Festival International (Leicester, Manchester, and Portsmouth) – high quality arts festivals with diverse artists and lots to see, do and take part in! so, get involved! You could…

  • Perform – take part in one of the carnival processions, sing, dance or take part in a piece of theatre… we can make it happen!

Arts Awards are a range of unique qualifications that support anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry. There are 5 levels of award – DISCOVER, EXPLORE, BRONZE, SILVER and GOLD. Arts Awards aim to help young people to discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in arts activities, experience arts events, develop creative communication, explore the world of artists and craftspeople and gain skills which will help them to progress into further education and employment. All successfully completed Arts Awards receive an official certificate, accredited by Trinity College London.

ArtReach is both an Arts Awards Supporter, meaning we can help you to achieve arts awards by signposting you to participate in the festivals and activities we organise AND an Arts Awards Centre, meaning we have trained staff who can run and accredit Arts Awards in DISCOVER, EXPLORE, BRONZE and SILVER levels.

Whether you’d like to achieve a DISCOVER award in a day through one of our specially designed workshops or you’d like to take on a longer project to research and develop your knowledge of the arts to achieve a BRONZE award, we can help!
