Each year ArtReach brings Night of Festivals  to Hounslow High Street.

2018 is no different and ArtReach will be producing a Festival from 9-10 June that celebrates the values of freedom and democracy through artistic innovation with opportunities for the local community to get involved. As well as providing a fun and colourful event, we want to ensure the Festival celebrates Hounslow as place, – its amazing history, heritage, people and future.

As part of Night of Festivals 2018 we wish to work with a team of local volunteers to research Hounslow’s past and to prepare a pop-up museum exhibition that will be displayed at the Festival. As a volunteer, you can expect to take part in group meetings, meet with the Archive team at Feltham Library, and commit some time to researching and collating material for the exhibition.

The exhibition will focus on Hounslow’s heritage, including the Annual Fair that has taken place in Hounslow since medieval times, supported by the Friars whose base was close to Holy Trinity Church on the current town High Street.

All ages from 16+ welcome. All we ask for is an interest in heritage and history and a bundle of enthusiasm! No previous research experience is not necessary.

If you’re interested and would like to share the history of Hounslow with its people, please get in touch with David via [email protected] or by phone 0116 261 6882.
