ArtReach will present the third edition of Journeys Festival as part of Leicester’s City Festival this August.  Highlights of the 2015 Festival include the extraordinary Look-Up exhibition from Behjat Omer Abdulla.

Journeys Festival has been developed as a special celebration of the work of Refugee Artists and Refugee Arts, highlighting the extraordinary and powerful experiences and work that Refugee Artists bring to the UK. For 2015 the Festival will move to Orton Square in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter and will run 12 noon to 5pm on each of Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August. A programme of exciting and stimulating live music will reflect a range of cultures and will be supplemented by a high profile exhibition of outdoor artworks presented by Iraqi artist Behjat Omer Abdulla. in addition the Festival will host “Coffee Shop Conversation” events to highlight and facilitate dialogue around refugee and asylum seeker issues, and will also provide participatory kite design, making and “virtual” flying activity to enable engagement from family groups.
