Jo has 25 years’ experience in the arts and heritage sector. Her experience includes working in arts development roles, outreach, project management and as a visual arts practitioner and educator. Jo has worked with a number of district and borough local authorities to develop cultural strategies and plans, as well as devising and delivering new projects of her own, building partnerships across the UK and internationally.
Jo has worked with NPOs Nottingham Contemporary and Attenborough Arts, as well as museums, young people and community groups. Her Thinkspace project in Corby, examining the role of artists within a regeneration context, won an Arts and Business Community Award, and her projects with Leicestershire Open Museums won a national Clore Award for Innovative Learning projects. She has particular expertise around outreach education and creative consultation. Jo is also experienced in commissioning, having both delivered public realm commissions herself, including for Groundworks Erewash, Leicester City Council and Nottingham City Council, and commissioned other artists.
