Bath Rio Carnival
ArtReach coordinated an exciting carnival procession in Bath city centre on Saturday 25th August as part of the Paralympics Flame Event.
Working with our partner Mandinga Arts and local community groups in Bath (Gateway Centre), Keynsham (at St John’s Church), Radstock (St Peter’s Church) and Peasedown (Youth Centre) we created six costumed sections to support the procession of the Paralympics Flame through Bath
Over 100 local people took part, including a section of disabled youngsters riding on adapted bikes (Wheels for All). Six talented Bath and Bristol based artists were engaged to work with local groups and created and animated costumes for the parade which was themed to the handover of the Olympics baton to Rio for 2016.
