Night of Festivals 2012 runs 21-23 June in Old Market Square Nottingham and contributes to welcoming the world to the UK with a stunning, global programme of music, film, carnival and visual arts.
Night of Festivals 2012 takes place at the commencement of the London 2012 Festival and immediately before the Olympic Torch Relay arrives in Nottingham. The programme includes three nights of live music; the Big Screen world premiere of a new, short film and score by international composer, Michael Nyman; a sculptural installation from Haitian artists Atis Rezistans; a programme of short film from six continents in the ArtReach Nanoplex; a major Carnival procession (Friday 22 June) led by Mandinga Arts, Paraiso Samba and Dja Rara from New York; and a special finale music event on Saturday evening 23rd June.
